Regarding the Drought of Early 2008

This silence is deafening

this silence consumes air

Fills it with empty words, hidden glances, ever, ever churning minds,

makes it heavy, pregnant, obese

One day perhaps,

it will rain

a rich soaking rain that will quench our thirst

but,

for now,

this silence is deafening.
