Crash-landing

The whole world crashed down

The sky lay awkwardly
in the street, it’s stars askew

Car horns blared,
trees lay uprooted
But people still walked the streets,
avoided the loose stars,
ignored the car horns
Continued with their life

Glass crushed underfoot

No one noticed,
the sky in the street

No one cared,

I pocketed a star,
and tried to walk away.

Like them,
So, blind, so accustomed

to skies crashing in the street.
