A Moment (from the past)

One summer afternoon, with the aunts watching, I picked up a scissors and hacked through the giant male bean plant that could not flower but wrapped itself around everything around and tried to choke the heavily fruit-laden papaya tree by climbing her leaves and pulling her down

‘Stupid good for nothing plant,’ I said.
