A Moment (From Delhi)

Once we were walking in Chandi Chowk and someone was opening mandarins and handing them to me and they were small and sweet and we passed a movie theatre that was showing Krrish 3 and there was smoke in the air and noise on the streets and my head was full and my body, that time was like a boy’s because I was that thin and that small. And we were walking really fast, I don’t know why and I was trying to avoid carts and people and cars. I was sick that time, full of coughs and throat-clearing and my boy-body that time was always hot with fevers and later when someone jammed medicine up my nose, I winced and took it.

I don’t ever remember sleeping that deeply since.
